Jeremiah 48:9-11

International Standard Version

⁹ “Put salt^[a] on Moab^[b]
    for she will surely fall.
Her towns will become desolate places,^[c]
    without any inhabitants in them.
¹⁰ Cursed is the one who is slack
    in doing the Lord’s work.
Cursed is the one who holds back his sword
    from shedding^[d] blood.
¹¹ Moab has been at ease from his youth.
    He has been undisturbed like wine^[e] on its dregs
        and not poured from vessel to vessel.
He has not gone into exile.
    Therefore, his flavor has remained,
        and his aroma has not changed.
